If you run a bar or restaurant in California, this one's for you.
You probably already know that effective July 1, CA has passed SB 478: that law prohibits sales charges being added to a guest ticket. This means that the Healthy SF surcharge, and other surcharges added to the bill will no longer be allowed. Obviously , menu pricing will need to change to absorb those fees.
We don't yet have final word on the status of large party auto grats and added charges for scheduled (contracted) private events. Look for more info in the coming days.
