As we approach the end of the year, now is the critical window to review your tax position and make strategic moves that could significantly reduce your 2025 tax bill.
With just a month to go before New Year’s, this is the perfect time to understand where you stand, identify potential savings, and ensure you're prepared—whether that means owing less or setting yourself up for a refund.
At The Greenberg Group, we specialize in proactive tax planning. The earlier you share the right documents, the more opportunities we have to strategize on your behalf.
Below is a simple checklist to help you get started. No need to dig deep or overthink—this is meant to be a quick, effective year-end review.
For Individual Taxpayers
To complete your review, please send the following:
1. Your Latest Pay Stub
This helps us project your total income and withholding for the year.
2. A List of Quarterly Estimated Tax Payments (2025)
If you've made any estimated payments throughout the year, we’ll reconcile them against your projected liability.
3. Estimates of Capital Gains or Losses
This includes:
Stock sales
Mutual fund transactions
Cryptocurrency gains/lossesAny substantial activity here may create opportunities for tax-loss harvesting before year-end.
4. For the Self-Employed
We’ll assume your income and expenses are similar to 2024 unless you tell us otherwise. If your earnings changed significantly—either up or down—please let us know so we can adjust projections accurately.
For Businesses (S Corps + LLCs)
If you operate a business entity, we’ll need:
Your November 30th Financial Statements
Please send both:
Balance Sheet
Profit & Loss Statement
These statements allow us to review your performance, evaluate potential deductions, and ensure you're taking advantage of year-end opportunities such as:
Owner compensation adjustments
Retirement contributions
Equipment purchases
Year-end tax strategies specific to S Corps and LLCs
Timing: Now Through Christmas
We will be conducting these year-end tax reviews between now and Christmas. The sooner you send your documents, the more we can do to help you minimize taxes and plan effectively.
